Hand Surgery

Haven had surgery on her left thumb today to remove an abnormal growth plate and correct an angulation in its growth.  She did great.  She was nervous but willing to do each step.  She was at the center at 6am, in surgery at 8am, and released by 11am.  Movies, good food, and pain medication have been her afternoon.  She'll be in a full arm cast for a few weeks (full arm so that she doesn't remove it), and then in a splint for awhile longer.  August she will probably have a second surgery on her right thumb, following up on the first a year and a half ago.
