African Dance

Haven loved the music and dancing, though, like with everything else at Magic Kingdom, she was cautious.  Notice how she almost flees when one of the dancers approaches partway through.

Look away

Haven feeds Max, Max feeds Max

Update, finally!

With the collapse of my laptop, and a busy semester, we have been neglecting our weekly Haven update.  We are getting back on track this week starting with a simple Haven picture, and a shot of our latest big event.  This week Bethany became a U.S. citizen.  Just in time to vote in this year's election.

Delay in posting

There are lots of videos and pictures to share, however, my machine died last week, so updates will be delayed until my replacement machine arrives and the software is reinstalled for preparing the photos and videos.  Probably a week away.

Preview: She is counting and starting to sing.

Jen's Unexplained Paralysis

A colleague's 14-year old daughter has developed an inexplicable disorder that has transformed her from a healthy, active teenager to being almost completely paralyzed.  Her medical team has not yet identified the source or a successful treatment.  They are now looking for others who have shown similar symptoms to see if they can isolate the source and potential treatments.  If you have any knowledge that is relevant, or can circulate information to other groups that might know of families that are struggling with the same illness, please give them this web address:

Sick Bug

Haven has a fever and was up for a few hours last night in obvious discomfort.  Lethargy dominated the early part of the morning.  We set-up some pillows and she laid herself back and watched the morning activity.  She started to perk-up after eating a bit:

Once she realized that we were serving her every wish, she got quite into the role:

Out for a walk

Haven's two favorite activities at age 14 months are (1) putting on shoes, and (2) walking on pavement - especially up and down ramps or steps.  If we are not in a hurry to go home after daycare, she loves walking herself to the car, taking detours to climb up and down the curb.
